DIY Terracota Textured Bottles

Happy Start of Another Beautiful Week, Lovelies! ๐ŸŒฟ

I would like to share a super simple DIY Project that I found online using jars and bottles and painting them with acrylics mixed with baking soda to create a terracotta texture.

All You Need:

Old jars and bottles

Acrylic paints

Baking powder

Paintbrush

Spray sealer

Little tips that I want to share:

๐ŸŒพ Choose jars or bottles that has unique shapes, heights, sizes and ridges for a more unique-looking vase.

๐ŸŒพ Allow to dry your first coat completely before doing another one to avoid clumping. Mine was coated twice.

๐ŸŒพ For every half a cup of paint, I put a teaspoon of baking soda, but you can add more or less depending on how textured you want it to be. The more baking soda, the more texture you get.

๐ŸŒพ You can use any acrylic paint colours you want. Skyโ€™s the limit.

๐ŸŒพ Feel free to change your mind during application if you donโ€™t like the colour. Acrylics are water-based paints anyway, so just wipe or wash the paint off then dry completely before starting over again, if you change your mind.

๐ŸŒพ Spray seal to make your paint more permanent. I didnโ€™t seal mine before the video because I was too excited to put my flowers in, but I will!

๐ŸŒพ Donโ€™t fuss about the process too much. Itโ€™s not meant to be perfect. Itโ€™s meant to be enjoyed. Trial and error is part of the fun. I find the whole process quite meditating, actually.

I hope this inspires you to have fun creating something beautiful as well. Any questions regarding this project, feel free to ask anytime. ๐Ÿƒ
